Sue Carter is an associate professor in the School of Journalism at Michigan State University where she teaches television broadcasting and media law. Before joining MSU, she spent 15 years in Detroit and Windsor, Ontario as a radio and television broadcaster. Her work has been recognized by the Associated Press, the Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Detroit Press Club. She won UPI's national sports broadcasting award for reporting on the Detroit marathon while running it. An attorney, Carter is a member of the Mt. Brighton, Mich. Ski Patrol. She and her daughter Amanda live in East Lansing, Mich.
