Phyllis is an ordinary woman who believes that extraordinary accomplishments can happen, as long as they happen one step at a time. She grew up in the snow belt of central New York and never lost her love of shoveling or sledding. She camps, cross-country skis, and hikes whenever she can. Professionally she's an organizational psychologist who's had at least five careers. Presently she's the Director of University Planning for Michigan State University. She and her husband, Dave (an engineering professor), spend their spare time parenting Katie and "the triplets" - Mitchell, Anna and Christine.
